Bridget Engle is the Head of Technology and a member of the Operating Committee at Wells Fargo. Bridget leads a team of information technology and security professionals around the globe. Together they are modernizing the company's platforms, enhancing the resiliency and cybersecurity of applications and infrastructure, and delivering innovative solutions to customers and across the company.
Bridget and her team play a leading role in advancing Wells Fargo’s digital transformation, including reimagining the company's customer and employee experiences and providing secure and stable 24/7 banking access. Bridget’s technology leadership is critical to supporting the company’s growth strategy and enabling its lines of business and global operations.
Bridget joined Wells Fargo in 2024 after serving as Chief Information Officer and Head of Engineering at BNY. In her role, she was responsible for delivering client-ready solutions across the firm's platforms while instilling an engineering-first culture across her global team. Bridget launched a Generative AI platform during her tenure to better support employees and enhance client-facing services. She also managed a successful data center transformation and built an industry-leading Cyber Technology Operating Center, enabling BNY to navigate the pandemic with minor impacts.
Previously, Bridget served in senior technology roles at Bank of America, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Barclays Capital, and Lehman Brothers. She started her career in software development at AT&T Bell Labs.
Bridget is a proponent of building strong, diverse teams and using the power of technology to produce game-changing results. Her track record features large-scale transformations at global firms and bridging the worlds of technologists and business leaders to achieve unified goals. A creative change agent with a client-focused approach, Bridget believes in developing and empowering her team to ensure sound solution delivery and successful project completion.
Most recently, Bridget was recognized as Global CIO of the Year by Crain's New York ORBIE awards. She has also been named a top technology leader by both Forbes and Bank Systems and Technology. Bridget currently serves as a trustee for the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI).
Bridget earned a degree in Computer Science from Middlesex College (New Jersey). She lives in New Jersey with her family.
